Foundation wins podium place at USA Crits Speed Week

Foundation Cycling NYC fielded a strong team for this years USA Crits Speed Week and successfully landed on the podium in the Week’s overall standing. The team’s top sprinter Rafael Merán showed his class once again with a third at Park Circle Criterium and a fifth place at Downtown Walterboro Criterium.

With Athens Twilight as the series opener everyone jumped right in to one of the toughest Crits of the season. A good test of the winters training. With new and returning riders racing five races in seven days it was sure to be an exciting week. The team consisted of Rafael Merán, Adam Alexander, Jesse Keough, and new riders, Cristian Torres, Norlandy Taveras, and Anthony Rodriguez.

Third overall

The team placed high in the USA Crits Speed Week overall standings. After 5 tough criteriums in 7 days the team secured a third place in the team competition. All of the members of the team secured a place in the top forty in the individual overall competition.

Each day the guys did better and better. With several top tens and a slew of top twenty finishes the team did quite well. Rafael Merán carried the Foundation flag to a third and a fifth place finish this week, proving yet again that he can deliver top level crit results for this NYC team.
